Now its just a shako with a postwar paint job...

But hey, as long you are happy
You make it sound like the whole thing has been repainted when its just the front visor that's been restored, still i'm happy with it and like I said its not about the money,i thought the hobby was about the history not the financial gain and judging by the vast majority of comments nearly all like it

Cheers Kurt for your nice comment, its appreciated

    thanks

        Hi Mark,
Glad you like it Mate and thanks for commenting, I must say getting the paint match was more luck than judgement but at least I won't have to do it again

He owns it. He can do what he wants with it, and although I may not have done that, it does look good and if he is happy with it, then that is all that matters.

I know collectors/Dealers that have taken off an arm from an all original untouched Estonian SS Officer tunic because they were damaged and had the eagle and shield resewn on the new arm...Seems crazy to me, but once you own something you can do what you want.

Interesting paint job. You might consider acquiring a correct officer shako eagle for it, instead of the NCO eagle.

? I am not in the market looking for one so I can't direct you from that standpoint. You do know the difference in the manufacture of the NCO and Officer shako eagle? Your NCO eagle is a flat stamping while the Officer quality one is stamped/molded with three dimensional aspects. It also needs a cushion behind the open part beneath the eagle. Is your silk interior minty?
