    Hi Ben

    Hard to believe...

It just takes one fish to bite, though as Chris pointed out there was a school of fools swimming around this "to good to be true" cap.

The auction house is to blame as much or more than the gullible guy that bought it

Agree stick Rommel's name on anything and give it a story, sombody's gonna get hooked

    cheers
    Tim

            However,

if someone did have one of Rommel's generals visor hats and could prove it then that would be a different story at auction for sure.

This thread reminds me of what a NZ officer from the 27 Machine Gun Battalion told me. They over-ran an important German headquarters in Afrika and found several German generals items of clothing among other items looted or collected for intelligence. He said one of the Generals visor hats was Rommels. Shame he was not in a position to take a photo of the inside and how it was named, for all the interested collectors today,

            Chris

" Rommel " means trash in my language, so in the light of that ..

C'mon MAN .... it must be true if the name tag says Rommel.

....BTW, if anyone is interested I have another Rommel visor for only 5500euro.
