    Org Todt overseas cap

    Picked this up while visiting a small militaria show in Holland last month....

    OT field cap!

    The owners name was cut out of the sweat liner (yellow)
    and also the liner was partially removed and edges of liner remnants neatly hemmed (red)
    Probably done to make the cap more comfortable...less hot without a full liner!

        What remains of the liner in the crown area does show some stamps...numbers...
        Its no doubt French production with French made insignia (similar to French made Kriegsmarine insignia)

          Yes a foreign bird! French made me thinks....Note comparison with this French made KM cap with French embroidered eagle....
          German made OT caps had standard BeVo made OT insignia.
          Could be Dutch too I guess..."Werkdienst Holland" cap?

            Two more period images in wear (OT men with SD and NSKK group photo)
            Deathcard image shows embroidered cap eagle and cockade like my cap! (not BeVo woven...)

                Could it be Italian made ?

                The cockade looks to be Italian made;

                  French 30's EM side cap "adapted " for the OT .Partial liner is typical .
                  I already saw some like that ...
                  86XC ( extra short ) stamping is a size for a jacket normally , so a reissued liner also .
