        Hello Gentlemen,
Dangerous business these caps, but in my opinion, this one has a good chance to be a period original. I like what I see in the details. If the price were attractive, I might take a chance on it.
        Thank you,
        Curtiss

At the very least, it appears the sweatband has been replaced.

                  The same opinion!
Depends on the price but this cap need an 100% handson autentification.
The problem is the non standard sweatband, no logo.
It looks very promissing but it remains a cap with question.

I'm not sure it was replaced , it coulnd be a economical sweatbend.not all erel's have the classic stirn sweat.

As said it's a dangerous cap an for sure it need an "in-hand-deep-inspection" but from these pics it could have some good possibilities....

..yes I agree as well...IMHO the SB "could " be original to the cap....

                        Hello Gentlemen,
There are some very good points raised here. I think we all agree that a thorough hands on inspection would be needed to get a better idea about this cap. The supplied pictures do not really give us much to go on regarding the sweatband or sweatshield. I was anticipating that each would have the typical Erel stamping (blind stamping in the case of the sweatshield). Without either of these tell-tale signs, I would pass on this cap as being too dangerous.
                        Thank you,
                        Curtiss

Other than the vented cockade what makes this an Erel? Could it be another maker with an Erel cockade added?

In looking at this cap, I don't get a good "gut" feel for it - and that's all it is, really. The vented cockade and the unusual sweatband are the two things that jumped out at men from the pics.
