Most GJ visors made during 1939-1945 were made to accommodate the Edelweiss.
This was done by placing the eagle high on the hat, so that the Edelweiss was not resting on the eagle, or the bullion wreath (or both).
If you look at jmcm's, his is a perfect example of this.
During the 1960's-present, many unscrupulous sellers added Edelweisses to common WH piped hats (such as artillery) in order to get more $$$ for an otherwise common hat.
There is simply no way to prove your Edelweiss was wartime applied.
IMO, it has the smae value as an artillery visor w/o an Edelweiss, unless you have rock-solid provenance that it has been untouched since 1945.
