I am no expert but to me it seems like the Edelweiss hasn't been on there for a long time. I guess in hands it will be easier to see.

Visor is fine, but Edelweiss appears to have been squeezed in postwar....

                    Hallo OKW44

Hosler of Zwickau is a confirmed one:

                    http://digital.slub-dresden.de/werka...dlf/94702/157/

but in my opinion the edelweiss was not original to the visor for the following reason:

The space was not enough and consequently the overlap on the frontal badges is very excessive.

However, you can have a sufficiently definitive evidence, if you feel taking it apart and check the condition of the fabric under it.

                    Best regards

                            Thanks guys the all opinions.
But actually I am confused. How you can say for 100% the mountain badge applied postwar? I mean if I would be officer in an artillery unit and got reassignment to mountain unit as artillery officer I would not buy new visor hat just to apply a mountain badge. I dont know how much was a new visor hat on that time but I think was not cheap. Would be more logical just apply the badge.

I tried to make some closest pictures about behind of the badge.
