You hit the nail of the head Ian.

It's the same old case of "authenticate this potentially very valuable item for me for free but I can't be bothered to take any decent photos plus I won't even say please or thanks"

(Second part) As you see for yourself the negative signs outweigh in my judgment at the time the positive ones. But before giving a thumbs down, I ask you to answer my questions and more carefully control this visor. For example, the front center fold of the lining is sewn in a disorderly manner and I see some black color behind. May You see what is it? From your photographs, I do not see any inscription on the inside of the sweatband and this is, on the one hand, a good thing, but on the other hand it makes even more anonymous this visor, whereas the chin seems to bring a print. The lining in 1/9 photo shows an earlier horizontal stitching in small areas. What is it and is it present throughout its edge? Being apparently a private purchase cap, you must agree with me that at least one manufacturer trace has to be somewhere. Sorry for all these questions, but you understand well that here we are not talking about an ordinary infantry ... and that a too fast answer, not well thought, could doom a real visor or clear a fake one.

      Best regards

        Hallo wobe

I enclose you some threads, which ended with different opinions, about some similar visors (officers, NCOs and enlisted). As I wrote you, here we are talking about a crazy market that is ready to pay a lot of money, thousands euro / dollar often for trash. Consequently, there is a big need for extensive testing and there is no place for quickies

This had a good review, apart from skull & chincords:

This was fired as an Alteste fake:

An old thread which shows the necessary level of detail:

I could go on, but I think that's enough.
