Guys could you please give your opinion about this first pattern tropical cap; original or maybe a very good repro ? Thanks in advance.

I'd like to see the insignia, please?
This is a familiar cap - both stamp and construction. I haven't see one this worn yet....

Well here are photos I have. when I asked guy who was selling it to send me photos of front of cap and eagle and he said NO ( so for me it is very suspicious ).

Sure looks to be a good one with removed soutache. He may not want to send eagle photo if through an Ebay type deal. If he has a return policy I would give it a try

I suspect this cap is an artfully aged fake. The authentic looking markings have appeared in other questionable tropical caps.

Also in what I assume are real caps

Exactly. The cap in question is not one I would accept as original.

This stamp has been seen on some fakes for sure, but always in size 60 & with the 21 in the lower box. The good LAGO caps have a similar stamp but in different size(s) and a different number in the lower box. Would still like to see better photos of this cap but its not looking good imo. & what about those grommets ?
