    Thanks

Thanks Bob, as I said I am new to visors - and it shows!

As a point of interest, looking at the stamps inside the sweat-band I am wondering if "Kdtr" (there is also something indecipherable and then what looks like "av" ?) is an abbreviation for Kommandantur (Commandant's Office ?), and if Horst-Komp indicates Horstkompanie which according to one reference I found elsewhere (Axis History Forum) is a company that "runs and maintains an air-base" (Air-base - Fliegerhorst in German). Would be nice to know which airbase it was originally issued at in 1936!

This from the Axis History forum covers it well Paul....

"The Fliegerhorstkommandantur was the HQ unit of an Air Force Base (Fliegerhorst). A Bereichskommando comprised several Air Force Bases (Fliegerhorste)."
