Which feature of this crusher does you think it was for NCO's?
As far i as know the very 1st insigna of this kind of cap was woven in white felt (as it is) and the NCO's wore only the side cap (mod.'34)...

it has EM/NCO insignia on it, rather than the flatwire type maybe?

Hi Kurt and others,
it's certainly a good proof that the crushers were made until the end of the war as i thought, but i have another question. Do you think that its production continued just after the introduction of the new 'Feldmütze für Offiziere neuer Probe' (the m38 side cap, HV 38, N° 465 dated 6th december 1938) or not? I ask you it because the same order stipulated that the old model Feldmütze had to be used up to wear and tear until the wear out period (1st april 1942). This statement makes me think that the production was stopped until the new order that extended the wear out period of all obsolete clothing (HM 42, N° 598 dated 10th July 1942) until the end of the war. After that date i think that the production started again, this time until the end of the war.
It could be an exact thought?

Hi William,
i remember you that the 1st model of flatwire insigna (with grey backing) was dated 30th october 1935. The crushers were in production since the march 1934 and the very 1st kind of oakleaf was white for officers, not silver!

Actually the wreath on the second "crusher" of mine might not be EM. It has silver wire bevo oakleaves and a white cotton bevo cockade.

Hi Chris,
perfect, this one confirm me the color white for the 1st model of oakleaf for the officer crusher. The eagle, with its proper silver wire, has been added later (30th october 1935) because the cap wad born without it.

To put some extra juice in the pot, heres one of mine (posted on this Forum before). Metal eagle is original to the cap, maker no longer visible. Certainly worn during the war years by the looks of it.
