As I mentioned before, I like the cap and believe it is period, yet I still think the cap was created from the SS style Schiffchen, but for a Heer officer. Interesting cap.

Im with OSS, I think the cap is completely original and it falls somewhere inbetween the two styles. I really think its a killer cap but not for the faint of heart thats for sure. If you can't accept variations from the standard then its not a cap for you. Seems like the officers got away with quite a bit more than the joes did back then, but I guess that is pretty typical even today. Still a killer cap in my opinion and the catch of the collection.
