This years scandal
How sad what happened, especially for Biohaz who got burned and for other folks that might have got burned as well. I really hope you get your money back. It should not be too hard to track him down as I think he is well known. Please let us know how this proceeds. If he dont make this correct he is done selling more on this and hopefully all other internet forums! (and shows)
It is very good that this scandal is brought up for the attention of the whole collecting world. I would like to hear his side of the coin though...
To be honest I never thought this about Jarek, Besslein. Hes has posted a lot during the years, good stuff and bad stuff. He is not alone doing that I must remind. I have not followed his postings in the cloth head gear section or the sale threads of those. So, I might have missed that part.
For those who complained about prominent SS collectors giving the big Hurray, yes that can happen. It has happened before when a guy from the UK posted what seemed to be a world class SS tunic collection that turned out to be trash and put togethers. It has happend for a certain SS panzer wrapper and there are several more examples. I guess a lot of collectors expected things to be good from a high number poster and frequent SS contributor. Also comments can be made without the time to make detailed analyses. And we all can make mistakes juding items. All of us... In this context I want to say that for a person selling something has to be extra sure that his items are good. Still mistakes are made by both collectors and dealers. The intention of fraud is what matters.
However a lot of the comments also included requests for further photos. Those never came and the thread died after 2 days.
Its a bit sad that the agenda of criticising prominent members comments now has taken over the initial purpose of the thread that was started. I am not a prominent collector so I do not take it personal but I can understand why the general wow happened. It must however be taken into the context of tiny pictures and so on.
I am rather sure none of the prominent collectors would have bought anything posted there without a lot of close up pics and investigations.
I really hope this tragic story ends well. Good luck and please keep us posted about what happens.
Best wishes
