    I have no problems with the wool in general. I own an issued wrap made in this wool. Its a low quality wool - very uncomfortable in my opinion. The point that bothers me is that this cap is a private purchased example. Private purchased garnment was normally of a better quality than enlisted stuff.

      Normally! I agree. Take a look at the tunic from schoellbier. I don´t want to wear this tunic!
      So IMO later material on private purchased items is not a problem.

        Maybe - but why should someone produce an oversea hat after 1942? They were replaced by the M43.

            Hello argan,

            the stamp to which you refer says "56 1/2" and is the size of the cap. In my experience the stamp is typically german esp. in an officers M38 sidecap which usually only have a size stamp marking.

            Looks all ok to me,

              Correct. The lining + size stamp is a plus point.
