            me not. I have never seen this kind of wool on a private purchased officers side cap.

                  I have veteran brought back example made from this type of wool. Very unusual, I agree. Not one that many would probably rush to buy. Neither the less, still a Panzer sidecap made of this wool and worn before May 1945.

                  This one was brought home from Italy in 1945 to NZ by a member of an Anti-tank unit. I got a few items from this engagement. Will also add some images of the soldbuch and dog tag,

                              I showed the wrong image in post number 10. The image I showed, had cut out an important piece of information beside the photo. This explains how this GD officer aspirant wound up in Italy 1944 fighting with 26 Pz.A.A. Sadly from what the veteran told me, I suspect he was killed in the engagement,
