    M43???

I have the below cap that I got from a WW2 vets son back in the early 60's. Have looked on here and did not see a match. Eagle seems to be hand sewed to the cap but was not sewn through the liner. I can find no markings inside the cap or on the ear flaps at all other than sweat stains. Am thinking that this is genuine as all the other items from the same guy have proven to be. Any help or guidance as to what I have would be wonderfull. Thanks as always!

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Looked at that link before posting the above and did see how simular my hat and the one in frame three are. Is the lack of a cockaide (the black white and red round emblem) at all unusual? How about the color of the lining. All the ones I have seen on other posts have a grey lining. Any idea if this is a early or late in the war item?

Good cap IMO. The cockade was either removed or it never had one. Female LW troops did not have those on their caps...

In the 1 foto IMO you can just make outwhat looks like the machined ghost of a smaller bevo square for a cockade..Billbert
