    Luftwaffe M 43 Caps

Because of Paul's recent questions about Luft. M 43 caps, I thought it would be helpful to have a thread devoted to these for reference. So I'll begin it with one of my favorites, a 44 dated cap with machine sewn insignia.
    Regards,
    John

John your M43 is a mighty hard act to follow, I love the spacing between the buttons and the thin 'chin strap' if that is the right wording, so the cockade can be readily seen, a fantastic example of an early M43!

I'll post another later, this one with hand sewn insignia. Raoul, these were so common when I began collecting that I passed on dozens of mint examples. Had many in my collection but slowly traded them all away but a favorite few. :-(

Here's one of mine. Unusual in the "speed" stitching used to apply the eagle that is a characteristic of this maker.

And another -- unusual for a late war hat in having a partial leather sweatband. I personally think these were for female helferin -- but that is just my opinion.
