My problem with pieces like this is how well made and brand new they look. Mark.

crap, does not look real to me, way too fresh and btw, these items should be left in peace, too much pain & fear related to them IMHO

                Cap

The fabric both inside and out appears to original from the period.

Reminds me of the lining in the Dachau SS panzer M-43s, obviously the same. It would be interesting to see if the batches of Italian rayon HBT match up under magnification.

I too would not care to have this type of item around, way outside my interests even if free.

Indeed, but knowing Herr Weitze's sewing contacts .....

As Richard say's I personally, while interested in the SS and having some knowledge the KL system itself would not want to own this or any other such item.

If original the expression 'Belongs in a museum' was made for these things.

                      Hat!

I gotta go with Richard on this one, zilch interest and, in my opinion, has little or nothing to do with military head gear. To much 'bad ju-ju' Just my opinion. Dave.

The real question is not whether it is original, but what kind of deeply disturbed individual would want to own it.

Maybe a deeply disturbed curator of a museum? Or somebody like us with a interest in ww2 history?

i have an interest in history, but have no interest in seeing this offered for sale, real or otherwise, it does not belong to what i consider " military collectibles"
