My favorites
I have to agree with Dave Kane --- you have to love headgear. It is so identifiable with the period and quintessentially German. Quality and style. The hard part for me is picking out which is my favorite so I will show you more than one.
EREL's, of course, seem the most desirable but with the many makers out there --- each with their own style --- I think it is fun to branch out. However, my favorites are made by EREL and Clemens Wagner.
The first is a CW that came out of its cardboard box. Still with tissue paper.

I am surprised that there are not more nice visors shown here. There have to be more out there.
Helmets are nice but nothing can match the beauty or elegance of a nice visor. As you state Mike, there are a zillion makers out there and one could collect by service, branch piping or maker just as dagger or badge collectors
Everything else is just steel or cloth.
