I don't collect visors. My great uncle was in the 3rd armored division in WWII and when he returned he brought my father, who was then a young boy, a bag of German "War Booty".

Years later my father taught U.S. History at a high school here in Southeast Texas. He used the visor and a party flag to show students actual items that were part of the German war machine. Over the summer he left these items locked up in his room in a cabinet. When he returned in the Fall they had been stolen by some workers who were there in his classroom over the summer.

Luckily he kept the pistol and the EK1 that were taken from the same German officer. Somewhere, someone has that cap and with it a part of my uncle as well as my father.

For that reason I turn my nose up at all visors. (I do enjoy looking at the panzer & SS visors though

My favorite, a double-Erel LW visor dated pre-1942.
