There simply is no excuse for this kind of ignorance:

            For posterity:

"Completely original Elite White Dress Visor. This visor is in very good shape and is extremely rare. This visor comes with the TK and the elite insignia (marked M 1/52 and RZM). I cannot see the maker on the TK and I am not attempting to remove it from the visor. It appears to be a matching set though. Most of the silver is present on all. This visor came out of the Barrandov film studio. I personally picked this item up during one of my trips. The visor was used by the Barrandov Statsni Filmu Studio after the war to make anti-fascist propaganda films. The Soviets used this studio since it was one of the most advanced in the East. To this day, the studio still makes movies and is still one of the largest in Europe. The studio only used Original period items and they placed them in their inventory in the 1950’s and 60’s. This Visor would have been sitting in storage in the inventory since at least the mid 1960’s.

There is some staining on top of the visor and the white does have some dust discoloration. I have not cleaned the hat, but if someone cleaned the visor, it might clean up nicely. The visor only has minor staining and dust considering it is white and its age. This is not a cheap copy and this visor looks absolutely nothing like the chinese copies of the white visor currently on the market. I guarantee this visors originality. Also, there are no unused stitch holes in the lining and it is in great shape. The interior is all in perfect, near mint shape. The bill is the correct material and is marked."<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

This was listed twice on Ebay. The first go around, it still had the Alteste manufacturers' marking in it, and I sent him some emails explaining that while it's a nice filler piece, it is a replica.

Looks like the response was to remove the offending sweat diamond after he read the articles, then continue selling it as an original.

                      Oh well.

Well they did. There's an Alteste with the sweatshield (stitching too, of course) completely removed on Oakleaf for $17K.

                          Shocking. I don't believe it.
