    Hello Mike,

well we certainly have one of those SS M43's here. This is complete with eagle, skull, grommets and sweat band. The cap has had a bit of wear however, thus the makers mark is almost impossible to read.

Will dig it out as soon as I get a chance and ask ebony to post some images on this thread,

    Chris

It will be very interesting to see if the insignia is all whip stitched on too. Maybe that is the way this maker was doing it. I do remember seeing the one Don had in person and made a mental note of that stitching.

      Mike...Thanks for showing them.

really a great cap had this one in hand at the SOS and for me at least, no question on the authenticity of this wonderful cap thumb sup
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

There is no doubt in my mind that the insignia for both is factory sewn. That view was reinforced by finding the second example, with essentiually the same sewing method used, 35+ years later.

Many thanks for the comments gentlemen.

Gisle, is there any possibility of seeing photos of the caps you mentioned that now reside in Norwegian collections?
