Visor Arrived Today

[MLH13]

This visor arrived today and eveything checked out, but the chin strap raises a question. I have never seen this type of strap on a Heer EM/NCO visor before and I would like to get some opinions on it.

I agree...not a KM strap. This strap has me puzzled and it doesn't give me the warm and fuzzes. The strap appears to be much too pliable to be 60 plus years old and its construction is atypical for these visors. I can't find any evidence that would suggest otherwise.

The only oher thing that appears close, to me, is Municipal Police - see Moran & Mcguire's German Headgear, second vol., p. 42-43.

I appreicate your help. After doing some research, I found this type of strap common on civil visors but not on Heer's.

Yes Mark,

These straps can be found on Civ. visors.
I have a DRK (German Red Cross) visor with a similar strap.

Evidently either a replacement chinstrap or the manufacturer using whatever style he had on hand. Numerous examples can be found of WH caps with LW style chinstraps for instance.
