Except for bashing a dealer I haven't heard much what's exactly wrong with the visor ..

Guess I have to repeat myself.

Looks like a Frankenstein to me. At a quick glance, I don't like the worn crumpled sweatband paired with a new looking lining with horrible pleats, and a likely repainted visor. Plus that chinstrap has already been pointed out.

Things are really bad if sellers forge COA´s. Not only do we have to determine the authenticity of the items but also the COA

The problem is that people DO forge COA's.

IF this is a real Niemann COA, and it goes with THIS cap, is the criticism being voiced of the cap correct? So far,
                  1. Insignia allegedly bad
                  2. Sweatband not consistant with rest of cap
                  3. Visor shows indentations from officer cord, although it is not an officer cap
                  4. Pleats in lining are wrong.

Except for the possibility of #3, are the other criticisms valid? I personally have no idea, but would like some more facts.

Until we are given better pics showing showing us important features, we will be just "judging a book by its cover". It's easy to mask the outside, so lets see the following, if the new owner is here.
Lets have a look behind the SB, multiple views focusing on things like:
                    a. The pasteboard ie. material, holes, stitching ect
                    b. The Sweatband ie stitching, missing holes ect
                    c. The liner itself ie pleats, extra holes, stitching ect
                    d. extra holes ie. in the pastebaord and liner
                    e. lets measure the cap, it's clearly marked VII, does it measure 57cm
As you can see the list can go on and on and on..................
                    So,
Is the new owner a member here? I hope so
Will we ever get a chance to get the real answers we are seaking on this cap? Probably Not, unless we see better pics.
Could the new buyer be someone who couldn't tell his a$$ from a hole in the ground? Yes
Will this all be a mute point in the end? Yes, but i hope not

It's already been clearly stated what's wrong with the cap ..... and the big German dealers have previous form on OKing each other's bogus colour-piped visors.

What's your view on it Jos ? Do the site's rules allow you to have input on such things ?

That is bad, some people in this business have no decency what so ever

I'm not a ss cap collector, so I'll not try to give any verdict ..
It has nothing to do with rules, but more with threads that are full of baffled people with actually no opinion.
... then someone starts about the dealer and there you go..

Personally I would only comment if I knew all of most of the facts and I would try to explain what was wrong with giving some examples etc.., because that's what I'm missing many times in the forum.

                            Jos.
