    A great find, well done.

            Thanks for the input.

Bob Coleman is certainly correct - this not necessarily (or even probably) an A-SS visor - it could well be TV, VT, SD or other.

Here's the interior of my August Mueller with the higher grade "champagne" lining. Frog's lining looks golden, not familiar with that color.

Thanks for the answers to my questions guys, I really got to learn something here form all the "yes it's original and fine specimen" answers.

                    Dan,
Yours looks a lot like mine.

                      Antiquefrog,
I would be looking very carefully at this cap if I were you. The runic badge under the diamond is, to my eye, extremely unusual and quite unlike the pattern found in all the other Mueller hats I have seen. Or any other cap come to that.
Examples of Mueller higher quality caps use the cream lining both below and above this number on the tag. I would be surprised if they changed lining material somewhere in the middle of that production period.

                        hat

This hat also troubles me , in all the years I have been collecting I have never seen runes made in this configuration, not for my collection........

Does the SS/RZM stamping on the visor look correct? I know the pic is blurry, but the angles of the runes look strange to me.

                            Thanks everyone for the opinions.

I defer to Bob C., BenVK, Beau and others for their expertise in this area.

To my eye, it has flawless insignia, a correct tag, and an apparently original Sonderanfertigung insert; I bought it based completely on these factors. I was not familiar with upgraded Muller linings when offered the cap; I just took it. It is MIB without the box.

If it is a fake, it is quite remarkable.

I ask for further opinions from any of you reading this thread.

                            Thanks - Frog

I've never seen an original with runes of that shape and configuration under the diamond. Could a sharper photo of the RZM label and the visor stamp be posted? Is the diamond thinner than usual?
Lastly, the name 'Friedrich' is misspelled. Of course, even if the paper label is fake or just written on by a non German speaker doesn't mean the cap is good or bad, but I've never seen a Christian name of 'Freidrich'.
