    A-SS EM Visor for Review

    Just picked this up.

    Very low profile.

Insignia are tarnished, not fully shown in pics.

Cap is unworn, to my eye.

    Opinions appreciated.

The underside; not the usual oilcloth.

A poor pic of visor underside; it is cross-hatched as normal.

A familiar tag; apologize for scale.

I must learn how to manage these picture sizes; apologies.

The embossed runes in the lining are slightly different than I'm used to seeing in certain details and proportions, but it does appear to be a beautiful original cap!

The cap is not just an "Allgemeine" SS cap. From the images, it does look good.

Hmmmm.....if it is an RZM "type" why does it have a satin lining?

Is not the head lining supposed to be oil cloth if with an RZM tag? Why would a tailor boher to put a tag into the hat is one questions, or perhpas th eownere took it in for the satin lining is th eother.

I am going to start by saying I don't know everything about the subject with these.

The NCO visors I have are oil cloth so that's why I am asking and a little more.

This just does not look right to my eyes for some reason that I can't put a finger on. The more I look at this brings questions.

The sweat diamond stiching to me looks like it would not meet RZM spec, especially if this is a hand made piece. If this is an upgrade to the visor, why would the tailor bother to put in the RZM label?Who ever wanted this would have walked into a shop I think to have it done or paid the post tailor.

But looking at the left side top of the diamond stiching and maybe the cut of the diamond, I dunno, maybe it is me too, but to my eye it is not right.

Is the size in pencil 60 something.5?

This is a quite exceptional Sonderanfertigung "special grade" cap made by August Mueller who was quite a prolific maker of these particular caps. The condition is fantastic and the insignia match the time frame and each other in patina very well.

                          A great find, well done.

Beautiful Special Order cap as Ben has stated. Congratulations.

                              Yours, Guy.
