Sammler good eye , i would say base on the color capband that this visor cap is a pre 1936 signal with post 1936 insignias , what is you guys opinion.

          Visor

Nice pre-1936 cap. Rare color. (But it is Bautruppen or Signals though, not recon.)

          Cheers, John

THIS CAP HAS THE EARLY CAPBAND ,THIS IS NOT AN BAUTRUPPEN VISOR CAP , THE ARMY BAUTRUPPEN WAS ESTABLISH IN 1939.

General mobilization was declared in Germany on August 26th, 1939, and to aid the call to arms, 1,050 individual Reichsarbeitdienst units were transfered in full to the Wehrmacht, specifically to the Heer, to form the basis of the new Bautruppen - the construction troops that would build roads, clear obstacles, dig trenches, create fortificaiton, and take part in all manner of military construction duties. The 1,050 RAD Abteilungen were transfered directly to the Wehrmacht Heer and expanded to 401 men each through the addition of older untrained army reservists. They were formed into a series of 55 regimental-sized .

Plus , the shade of the construction brown piping is way lighter that the cap above.

Sure besslein... sorry. To me this type of hat was always the HOLY GRAIL since this light brown is just a very hard Wehrmacht piping color to find. For every 20 real General's visors, I have seen only one of these.

sammler, lieproo & JohnS --- yes, I am convinced that this is an early Signals visor. I'll take some pics with some other early visors and you'll see the similiarity in the color of the capband.

jacques --- you're right, it doesn't fit into my collection. If you can trade me an officers' version or a crusher, then I'll gladly send it to you...

Ok ok, there are better jokes than that...

Holy **** then please do us the favor of sharing them. I would very much like to see the difference in piping and I am absolutely certain that the knowledge of many collectors would greatly increase

I am not one of these fortunate people who has ever seen two of these together...
