Is there proof that this is from Janke? Has an honest collector bought one recently?
and what happens with mine(sailor,s cap posted and commented in this thread)and this transport crusher posted in thread below...are all fakes or not all???'

Fernando, the problem is that hardly anyone here collects Donald Ducks (I have never owned one myself), and Cobra is a rare maker.
I cannot give you an answer--post your hat in the KM forum--maybe they can help you there.
That being said, I don't care for the Pioneer Cobra Crusher either.NEC SOLI CEDIT

Firstly, SGTB: Was your post suggesting &/or inferring that I am NOT an "honest" collector? If so, WTH?! If not, please comment &/or clarify that it was not referring to me; thanks.
Secondly, Fernando and I have exchanged several PMs recently. I've tried to help him with his hat and respond directly to the issue of "COBRA" logos in Janke's latest generation of repro hats. Here's Fernando's latest reply, which validates EXACTLY what I stated earlier:
"Hi
I will tell you what I did these past days:I wrote 2 mails asking about my cap and logo, one for Bill Bureau and other for extraKlasse.
Bill Bureau was so kind and response me than he will contact with janke and when he has response from him he will back to me again........
The response from extraklasse was:
(Dear Sir,
Michael Janke does not make 'fakes' which implies that they are meant to deceive. He makes quality reproductions, which I buy from him and market as such on my website.
I do not wish to get drawn into a forum debate, but can tell you that Michael does do KM 'Donald Duck' caps & does / did produce a Cobra logo in silver & that he applies the sweat diamond using one row of stitches.
He also uses the stamp that appears on your leather sweat band.
I do not have any Cobra maker caps in stock, so therefore can't comment on how many rays there are.
Please do not ask for 'further details' or photo's, as I don't have any.
Regards,
James Brown)
when I recieved this mail from extraklasse I asked him if at least he could tell me if exactly my cap was from janke or not and he response than he did not opine(I don,t no why not,is easy, yes or not)I,m so sad because I spent 750 euros in 2008 for such cap and Discovering is a copy is very hard for me and I will never receive a refund and of course never could said....
I hope at least eagle and cap tally are ww2 period, what do yoy think......
Thanks for your response..........
Fernando"

I GUESS MY 30 PLUS YEARS OF 'HONESTLY' BUYING/SELLING/TRADING/COLLECTING WW2 GERMAN MILITARIA, BOTH ORIGINAL AND REPRO, ALONG WITH THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED THROUGH SUCH IS WORTH SOMETHING?

Ha ha, no not at all!!
And I did not mean any one on this thread. What I meant is that when a high quality fake is offered on the market, it is never sold as a fake but always as an original with some cover story as to where it was obtained. So if the above crusher was indeed purchased from Janke originally we will never know. My hope was that if somebody here did buy one like this as a repro, with no intention of aging it and reselling it as a an original, would they please show it to the rest of us so that we can learn from it.
If you are positive that this is a Janke can you offer any proof such as this?
It does not resemble any Jankes that I have ever seen. In fact, as I stated, from these pics I like it. But I must admit that I have not followed the progression of Janke's products for the last 10-15 years, as they do not interest me. In fact, I was under the impression that they were getting poorer over time, not better. If the above crusher is a Janke, I am very worried for future collectors.

The only thing I know for sure is:I have been sadly burned and I spent so much money(750 euros) for a crap or **** or what say in english and I have no possibility of refund or change and I discover it today, since 7 years I,m the owner and may be I bother you Gents with my questions,I beg you apologize to me and perhaps I will use this crap as ashtray since tomorrow,
By the way I don,t understand what tell Mr. Brown when said:Janke no makes fakes because quality....is it not the same, all copies for idiot as me.
My first and only km sailor cap until today and probably the last one,I give up this difficult issue and I will focuse spanish navy, not fake by the moment.
Many thanks for your time

Then the years and asking everywhere and everyone I can assume than all caps signed by COBRA are janke fakes although they have COBRA logo in silver even the 2 dealers who make JANKE,s visors at current have confirmed such point from Michael Janke.......
The only COBRAS original period have 2 stitching rows around the sweatshield,we have seen only a few at the moment.
By the way SGTB you stated than:Until you have absolute PROOF that a piece is bad..etc
and the real key to me is PROOF why are original period caps and I had known from him(M.janke) than he made them.Last edited by L11-VELASCO; 05-06-2014, 01:50 PM.

Oh I don't doubt that Janke has made repros with the Cobra label. He's bought up every original font and logo that he could lay his hands on. I just haven't seen any proof on this thread yet. Why don't you buy one brand new and post it.
From what I understand they are never sold with with insignia pre-installed. Yet the pioneer crusher has flatwire badges machine-sewn in place. It should be fairly easy to see if they were added post-construction.
