            It's a very interesting piece, I have never seen one like that before. Almost looks like a panzer beret.

            What happened to the cockade? The outer ring is normally black, so why is this one red?

              The whole capband has been removed to give the soft , floppy appearance. The red dot in the cocade was applied by hand by the soldier and represent the color of the Austrian raised 44th inf division. I have a pic of a similar one in wear.J

                  Very interesting, possibly belonged to a WWI vet. And yes that's true, there was nothing very "uniform" of Wehrmacht uniforms.

                    Here is a nice Pekuro crusher coming my way. The flatwire insignia has been "upgraded" and cord added. It has a killer shape. J
