Hi Friends,
some years back i bought this interesting (at least for me) visor cap which only in the nearly times i learnt it was made from Pekuro from the printings on the sweatshield. For the first, i want tell you that it isn't put togheter or doctored in recent times in any way. What you see, is the original visor cap came out from a house in Germany. It's used but not abused but i like it because has that field operative aspect which lacks on the never used caps and i think is a very good job keep it on a nice collection. Unfortunathely, the silver bullion thread in the middle of the cockade was lost.
About this cap i noticed at least two unusual features:
-the sweatband, has the classical Pekuro black velvet cloth thinest than the usual
-the cap has a smooth surface laquered (not pressed paper) visor sewn on it which is the first time i see on this maker.
I could explain it with the soldier has modified the size of his cap and changed the deep used visor on the field and upgraded it adding bullion insigna for his promotion.
Nothing strange until now; what shocking me is the presence of the smooth like visor which i believed didn't existed on the war features!
Now i'm interested to know your opinions about this cap.
Regards,
Alex
