Anyone who posesses an AH original hat, from ANY period, will NEVER mention it or divulge it on any public forum. That would be naieve,and just asking for trouble, and people who own items like that ,don't need, nor care about notariety,complements or to be known as the one who has one, as every nimrod in the world will be after them to bug them constantly like they won the lottery, want to see it, or try and take it at the five finger discount . I suspect there are many out there currently owned and in private collections 100% authentic,and i hope if anyone here ever had the chance at one , they don't get cheap when having a chance to own one as the guy did in the shop where the vet brought one in for sale.. Also there are paintings of famous artists owned by wealthy folks , but even they keep it to themselves ,and for good reason. It is also prudent , if one knows where such rare items are, and you have been trusted to show such items to, to keep it in confidance, and never mention it to anyone ever, to protect your friends who have allowed those who are worthy to see such items. If and when i ever find one, there is no one I know i would trust to show it to.(remember loose ships sink lips)
