Interesting that in the original thread in 2005 alot of the heavy hitters in cloth headgear ( BenVK, NTZ, Dave Kane) label it as most likely a repro. Lignemaginot wanted a hands on, but doesn't seem to be impressed with it.
Now Stonemint is in with a 100% original.

I feel bad for Das Reich, using the information obtained from the forum he sells it as a repro and now it's 100% original.

      I'm confused?????????????

      Regards,
      Mike

Mike, I wasn't around much back then, mostly because I hated sorting thru all the helmet posts to find one on visors. Anyway, 3 years ago is a lifetime, given all the information now at our fingertips. Although I cannot speak for them, I would assume that they based their opinions on the fakes of this label, which were common, although you don't see them much anymore. I think people assumed it was a Pekuro s/b, but as we know, many makers used this system, but not in velvet, and not in the way Pekuro did--Handwerkliche had their own system which is similar.
The Erel cockade also threw some people off, but I have seen them on hats by other makers, albeit rarely.

Personally, I don't even think it needs a hands-on, and I would buy it, if I didn't already have too many WH visors (I'm still trying to shake my 30 year case of "wehrmacht-itis" .

            Hello Stonemint and Hans,
I personally love the THICK piped caps. The look is very striking!
May we please see additional pictures of your infantry thick piped visor caps?
Oh, one other detail about my visor in question; the sweatband is made of the ersatz type material, not leather. This replacement material is generally not seen on reproductions, that I am aware of?
            Thank you and best wishes,
            Curtiss
