I'm afraid my old digital camera is not picking up on some wear and soiling. I do understand the points Glenn is trying to make. I have had the hat for 5 or more years. Are their good oilcloth lining repros being made?

Note that the sweatband construction on your example is the same as mine - more ersatz leather exposed before the cloth lining, but absolutely genuine. (Boxed area)
The copies are OK - but they only bear a similarity to originals as the materials are not spot on, especially the white 'bias' type underlay that is usually seen.
Looks great on your display as well

The more commonly seen variety has a less exposed 'leather' section running about the brim.
The more I see this cap, the more I like it.
