      Hello,
      I indeed never saw those on m43 caps, but I found about 2 ww2 non-military m43 caps on this forum that did have the shield. Unfortunate I can't find them now anymore, but is it so that ww2 military caps never had a plastic shield like visor caps?

        Correct ww2 era caps NEVER EVER had such plastic shields, instead always celluloid which is a very brittle hard material, not soft plastic like this post war one... Often these get removed from hats, as it makes them obvious as post war types...
