In my opinion there are two common signs to distinguish the very early postwar Peküros from the wartime or pre-war Peküros.
1.) Imo all Peküros with the die-cutted Peküro writing in the front section of the sweatband are of early postwar or (most common then with a grey lining) later postwar fabrication.

2.) Imo all Peküros with a zigzag structured, brown waterproof lining are early postwar.

It is definitely an early pre-war Peküro pattern diamond, but this peculiar lining seems to show the zigzag print too. Would it be the typical pre-war oilcloth, I had no problem to accept it as a pre-war production cap, but I am not sure about the lining material. Maybe we can pick a better sample.
Which also means, the Garth Thompson Air Sea rescue visor and the visor introduced in post 13 are imo of postwar production.

You are correct with regard to the perforated Pekuro logo--always post-war.

Thank you, of course I read your excellent reference work, as every cloth headgear collector should from time to time.
I recently found another logo on the internet, it has the correct pre-war oilcloth underneath, made of impregnated cloth on top of the lining, the visible sides are made of unimpregnated cloth with a more distinguished yellow tone instead of orange. The sweatband also has the correct pre-war style and seems to be made of leather. The maker mark on the diamond was imprinted in silver, not gold, as e.g. found in the Sea/Air visor or other common postwar caps.
Imo this is a pre-war logo with all the necessary specifications.Comment

As I wrote a little more than a month’s ago, this is one of many truly educational threads that some dear friends have created for the benefit of the whole community of collectors. I think that, despite the passage of time, we have sometimes to go back and rediscover them because every time, at least for me, I always learn something new.
Consequently, it's time to resurrect this thread also from the dust of the (recent) past.

I’m not able to classify this logo into the known pre-war categories. Good thing the stirndruckfrei is not advertised on the sweatshield and not applied to the circumference of the sweatband. Perhaps, given my limited knowledge, I'm missing something obvious here?

Found this interesting thread during research here on WAF. Does anybody know this Peküro distributor? This stamp is not from a visor, but from the inside of a SA kepi. Haven’t found other SA kepis with such a stamp so far. Thanks for any help
