I have to say that I have really enjoyed the discussion in this thread so far --- nevertheless, I would like to turn your attention back to this particular visor. Those "older" or more experienced collectors out there: did TSD NCOs exist? I have never encountered insignia below a Leutnant...

Ok call me different but the cap looks to be mid to late war production. The dyes they used also changed a bit for certain colors such as med. and pz. I would not rule out later war transportation.
