Hi, the cap does have padding, I keep away from the unpadded types.

The cap band piping is different to Ben's, mine as you have noticed has the thinner cap band piping and thicker crown piping which is something that can diifer, even on caps made by the same firm and is quite popular on a lot of period visors.

Someone asked me about this maker. Does anyone have a TR telephone book from Kronach that list Hartmann?
(today there is a Heinrich Hartmann in Kronach, but it is a paper-goods mfr.

I already had the same manufacturer in a LW OFF cap,found in Germany years ago !
