    The "Other" Schirrmuetzen mit Totenkopf

I know, I should probably post these in the Imperial forum, but given their connection to the TR (IR Regt 17, etc) I thought I would post them here.

These are from the Braunschweig IR 92. The first one dates from the pre-war period (probably circa 1908), as it has the Dunkelblau body. This Regiment was allowed to wear the Totenkopf as a traditions badge going back to Waterloo:

The colors for Brunswick are gold/blue. This is an Officers hat by virtue of the Kokarden:

Interestingly, the Reichs-kokarde has a leather backing in lieu of the usual Vulkanfiber/metal/cardboard:

The second one is a wartime field-gray visor, also for IR 92. It has a higher peak and is Trikot instead of the doeskin:

This hat is also for an officer. The skull is different in form than the pre-war one:

Unmarked interior, watered-silk lining--this hat is probably from around 1915:

This is an NCO from IR 92--note the flatter O/R Kokarden, and the wartime chinstrap:

This isn't Braunschweig, but a nice piece anyway--it is a Weimar Cavalry visor, and is pictured in the Reichswehr uniforms book (a book you should all have, even if you collect only TR):

And, for the sake of continuity, my favorite Erel visor of all time, from Infty Regiment 17, and Braunschweig distributor marked:

If anyone else has any Braunschweig Totenkopf headgear (of any era), please post (or re-post) 'em here!
