The piping in not white, it is gray and the cap band is different. I already ruled that out although it crossed my mind.

This hat is still bugging me. The closest I can think of is Bahnschutz O/R--I take it there is no sign of a Bahnschutz wreath?

NTZ--can you post your own pic to show just how gray the piping is and how blue the top is?

Here is the best I can do for now since it is dark outside. The piping is very light gray. Almost like a DRK piping.

Could it be Werkschutzpolizei (Factory protection police /guards). They wore both field grey and black uniforms. They had a black cap with a white looking piping??

Bahnschutz wore Blue cap, Black band and similar piping but not after 1938...

Well I hope I restored this beauty in its original configuration. The consensus is that it is a Bahnschutz em/nco. The cap was so nice and had such a saddle shape it just looked too much like an officer to put the em/nco strap on so I went with an officer’s candidate.

Just fabulous restoration work, Nick If I had know it could look this good, I would have bid on it myself!
