    I think it is an NSKOV visor or another veterans association cap..I ve seen that cap color and style in veterans cap..I think it might have had the eagle with the iron cross superimposed over it..Billbert

      Hello Gentlemen,
      This looks like a cap I had a while back (which I returned to the seller). See this thread;
      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=150763

      It is most likely a just post war made cap for some use, or some other smaller wartime organization?

      Thanks,
      Curtiss

        The cap is a period Schellenberg, I am positive of that. What it is is a whole other story.

              Ok guys, I am bringing this one back to the top. I have this cap in hand right now. With out any doubt it is a early to mid 1944 Schellenberg. Now what is it? The cap is dark blue, the cap band black and the piping is gray. I was thinking some sort of TENO.

                I think your instincts are correct.

                  Nick--how many exrta sets of holes are there in the pasteboard? Under that Forestry wreath, is there an outline of previous insignia?

                  If its TENO, its unreferenced. This is (imho) a wartime hat. TENO NCO used dark blue piping, and for upper NCO ranks, the flecked silver, and for Officer the silver basket-weave piping. Is the top blue and the band black as it appears in the pics? Maybe it is for some unreferenced Govt. Officials Lower Ranking uniform. Run it by Gerard Stezelberger--if he doesn't know, nobody does.

                    I didn’t take the wreath off yet but is does show the outline of the wreath on it. As for extra holes I haven’t had the time to look real good but I only see one. Now where the bird sits is another story. God knows how many birds this seen.

                      Saw the original Van Halen at US '83, and at Monsters of Rock... I'm going to see them 12/20...

                        Ok, I checked the pasteboard. It only has two sets of holes. One set for a wreath the same size as the one on it and two narrow holes that are offset. A fake TK. I am sure someone tried to pass it off as an Alg. In fact I thought I saw it on Ebay once like that. There is a faint impression of a bird. It is small. Similar to a DRB or something.

                          The piping seems a bit thick for this but how close does it look to a Red Cross visor?

                                It is a Soldatenbund cap of someone who has served in the infantry. These caps came with piping like their former arm of service.
