      Whatever the merits of this particular cap may or may not be, the cap band is not indicator of a reproduction. A thin cap band is a distinctive trait of SS field caps. From the earliest field caps introduced in 1933 a narrow cap band, (that only just accomodated the skull badge), was a common feature of the SS field cap.
