                    I was thinkin same as Glenn,beside the contruction that im still studyin,it looks very used like the good ones but they might have used the hole for stittching with a machine the trap...

                      Ciao Lelez...thanks for the post....don't know about insigna....difficoult to say...having in hand it really seems original to the hat but I'm not an expert.....two more infos for your study:

                      looking under the lining no signs of rear stittching.....either on the lining or on the inside of the cap....

                      rally seems the rust traces on the left of the triangular insigna might be caused by the contact (for a long time) with the rusted buttons......

                          Yes might be re-applied but by these pictures insigna could be war time applied in my opinion.

                            Most probably period applied,zig zag stitching looks a bit crude and uneven to me though,perhaps just the photos.

                              I think maybe the stitching around trapeziod has slightly distorted due to the hard field wear.. and a little bit of camera angle..I must concur with the rest..looks AOK to me Billbert
