Another thing about the cap you posted....the vast majority of NCO caps will not have a sweat shield/maker mark. And that one looks plastic to me anyway.

The makers mark and diamond are not unknown on early NCO caps, especially those with bullion insignia. Could you provide close-up of mark, please.

I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who had the bogus A-SS generals visor for sale for 15K a few months ago (the one with the "hand in glove" bullion piping)....

I think besides the cap itself, the sellers description gives it away as a fake. He uses terms like "bullion" and "celluloid" yet says he knows nothing about these hats...alludes he doesn't even know it's not an officers hat...maybe it's a winter hat...classic. He knows what it is.

You're right - lives right across the Bay from me here in Rhode Island, and I remember that A-SS cap he was trying to flog. I know very little about KM caps, but the way he is trying to feign total ignorance of any TR cap (after how "knowledgeable" he was about the A-SS cap) and the very low Buy It Now price would make me run away.

Hello all, with this pictures I would pass in this one. The sweatband is IMO for sure not an original one. The maker shield is not rare to find in NCO caps, but with this pictures is not easy to say if it is OK or not. It has not have the chinstrap, and I think that is because is the most hard to copy and if it is a post-war cap, as I think, is impossible to pass it by a WW2 one, so is easier to take off it.
