And the black panzer M43's being worn along with the black sidecaps by the HG Panther crews.

Might even have another field grey wrap in the well known lower image,

There is a colour film of the HG panzer division in existance. I am lead to believe that it was made in Italy. One can see by the early Panther model D in use and an Italian style of house in the backround. Sadly not many images from it have ever been released. However, we can make out in this one image a black M43 being worn plus another image from Settin 1945 of a field grey wrap (with collar piping ?) & cap (like the one in post number 85 ?) in wear at the time,

1945 images of the HG panzer division in the east are hard to find because so much was lost at the time. However, they did have a unit with them that was taking photos. There is always the hope that more of this film and photos may yet surface.

Here are a couple from the battle of Bautzen 25-26 April 1945 showing distant shots of black M43's being worn at that time. In fact the HG panzerwaffe by the Russian JSU 152 assault gun wearing the black M43 looks to also be wearing a leather wrap.

Note also the wrap/ short jacket made from SS camo/ FJR smock or LW camo field jacket being worn by the HG panzerwaffe wearing the sidecap,

The top image of the Panther G in post 93 was taken in lower Silesia, March 1945.

I am told that the excellent image that Leroy posted in post number 89, is the HG replacement & training unit surrendering in Holland in 1945,

That is correct, near Hilversum/Soest to be presice. I also have a original image showing a platoon of FJ surrendering, I believe taken in the same series.

Any idea who it is shaking hands with Plapper in this photo? Or who the other award recipients are?

I think I found my own answer. I believe it was General Wilhelm Schmalz from posts # 28 and 29 from this thread.
