I saw the headgear forms Skip made at the last SOS. Very well and attractively made. They even work nicely with helmets.

How do you display your visors?

Thanks John, Ken, et. al., for the kind words and to all who have inquired/ordered.
I am in the middle of building a large display case for a collector who needs it mid-May for an upcoming OVMS show. Once that is out of the woodshop, I'll be back on the headgear stands with a vengeance!
Best,
Skip

Skip's Stands
I got my first one from Skip today -- in black -- and the fit and finish on it are outstanding. What I liked is the way you can adjust the turnbuckle to make it perfectly fit the hat -- without putting too much pressure on it. Just right.
The piece that fits in the hat just sits solidly on top of the stand, making it very stable yet easy to remove so you can examine the hat. Just a brilliant idea for a hat stand and the best way to properly preserve them.
I liked the felt on the bottom of the stand as well as around the circumference of the piece that fits in the hat.
Good work, Skip!

Photo of my Erel Luftwaffe mounted on Skip's stand. This is a size 60 and fortunately, Skip's turnbuckle opens easily to that size.
The other offshoot benefit is that when you adjust it to fit, it actually "shapes" the hat like it would if it was on a head. Just ideal.

Displaying Visors
Really nice cap there Mike. It looks great on the stand. I have a question about the angle you have the cap at. Did you position the insert inside the cap so that the back will hang lower, or does it automatically do that by the way Skip has the insert attach to the stand?
I received my two inserts from Skip yesterday, but have not had time to put them in the caps yet. Unfortunately I do not have room in my display case to use the stands with them at this time.
Skip have you tried using these in M43 caps? Probably not needed for preservation purposes as much on M43's, but I'm thinking it would help with the look of the display. If so, I'll be emailing you for a few more inserts.

Tilt
Skip is a genius.
He has the bottom stand tilted so the hat displays at the proper angle. The insert in the hat (adjusted by the turnbuckle) goes exactly around the sweatband as it should and no "tilt" is required.
