As I mentioned this applies only to EM caps with early Traps, not officer or other services. If two variations, one being different thread for the Trap than used on the cap combined with a non-standard application of that type Trap are not even worthy of forum discussion, than so be it. No other evidence to counter my position is needed, this is "settled science" to coin a Global Warming phrase.
As Billbert mentions, I don't think people here fully understand how a cap is assembled and go by books or bandwagons rather than handling dozens of them, some directly from Veterans.
A cap or any other item rises and falls on it's merits not who owns it, it's story or who buys it. It is disconcerting when someone's motivations are the issue rather than the item.
