    Hi Ben,
Good to see again......Just having a rest, eh?........ ...hmmmmm

Are you guys dead sure about the HPC sweatband?

Quote from Gary's book page 289.
"This particular piece also has a black velvet (or felt) insert between the sweatband and the cap bottom around the forehead area"

In other words not all HPC caps carried this feature.

    Steve.

I'll give the Balke a thumbs down - granted, their logo appeared in different formats, but any of their private purchase (ie, not government contract) caps that I've seen have a Pekuro-like band around the base of the sweatband.

Steve we are for sure. The HPC shown has the "frishluft" markings. That is for the air flow system. I would think that HPC made some without it but this is not one.

              Hi Nick,
I am refering to the insert at the brow of the sweatband, not the airflow holes through the cap band.
The collective opinion seems to be that all HPC caps had the brow insert but Gary's book does not seem to bear this out......

              Steve.

Oops, sorry. I have only seen two HPC's in the flesh so I am not certain on that one. I would love to pick one up though.

I believe that both are the latest in new-generation repros, and they are good, but not perfect.
Every HPC I have seen has had the Pekuro-style SB, if it was a Frischluft.
I think Linemaginot proved the Balke to be a fake.

Ben, didn't you have an HPC for sale recently, and if so, can you post the interior?

I picked up Ben's cap so here's a picture of the HPC interior. Please note the sweatband is connected to the dark green material which is fastened to the hat.

                    Best,
