Peter, sure you may!! Great set-up--"SOMEDAY", after I complete my cap collection (yeah, right) I am going to have to find a tunic for each one of them (oops, I hope the wife doesn't see this.....)

Oh, and by the way, since we are on the topic of "piercings", this had does not (and never had) the lining pierced.

This is a forestry officer's hat I got yeaterday. I was not looking for one, but it was love at first sight. The hat is the most thickly padded I have ever seen. The sweat diamond is intact, but unmarked. The stirndrukfrei sweat band attachment really drove me over. However, poor storeage caused the bad distortion to the black laquer on the vulkanfibre visor and a bit of stiffness and shrinkage to the sweat band.

Bob--that has to be the highest-peaked Forstdienst visor I have ever seen--I can see why you had to have it---welcome to "Club Schwarzwald"!

PS--funny how us Chicago expats have a thing for trees now that we are in the desert

I had two trees when I bought the house, plus a huge palm tree, in the front yard. My wife loves the trees and I would make them go away (except the palm tree) as they leave too much debris for cleanup, in the pool.

Yes, I just love the hat. I didn't know I had to have one until I saw it. I am getting a much more wide range of interest, in visor hats, because of this forum. Not to mention, the prices for SS visor hats have outdone by ability to collect them, any more.
