Forestry Visor!

I have always thought that Forestry is one of the more underappreciated visors of the III Reich--they have some of the most gorgeous bullion wreaths, and always seem to be high quality. Well, after searching high and low, this baby just fell into my lap--guess why I fell in love at first sight?!:

Well, it is stonemint, but thats not the only reason:

Its because, (with apologies to the old song), "she wore GREEN Velvet....!":

This picture does not do justice to the eagle--to use a Craig Gottlieb term, it is "jewel quality"--I've never had an eagle that was original to the hat keep a finish like this one:

IMHO, the Forstdienst had the best-designed wreath of the III Reich:

The sweatband is leather, and the lining a fine yellow silk--I don't think this hat was ever worn:

Under the rear hood. The maker is also one I have never encountered before--"Meyer & Romer" of Frankfurt am Main:

Under the front hood--like most Zivil visors, no special Stirndruckfrei system. The staining is from the acids in the leather:

The Green Velvet literally "glows like an Emerald"--what makes this hat rare is that the velvet is NON-regulation--technically, they were supposed to be just boring old green wool, but you will see this exception VERY rarely. Top view:
