Start researching and maybe one day you know facts. About NSKK you have no idea what you are talking about. Start to research the SA and continue with the NSKK. The wartime NSKK is a period of things done
that should not be done, especially with the transportation forces at the western front.
There is no guarantee about the Coleman cap. There are a lot of things from his collection that are quite questionable. This is proven. Bob did believe too much what fiddlers told him. For me this is the end of a discussion. Believe what you believe!

Great photo! But this should be considered as a custom made piece from Zeltbahn and not a issue wrap IMO.

Who knows all? I only know bits and pieces after I started research in the early 1970's, collected masses of regulations and old information
in about 45 years and did write quite an number of books to serve the collector's community. Amongst them in one of my books a large
chapter about NSKK and wartime NSKK headgear and insignia.

          Maybe Guymauve, sheds some light.

I do not invite collectors anymore. For me: The collector always has right!

              hi

              "Maybe Guymauve, sheds some light."
I think you are both right.
Yes, there are official texts clairly described in Mr Saris books. But in fact, I found caps with eagles accurately positioned, others incorrectly; sewn by hand, others by sewing machine.
NSKK Feldmütze was not rare, but today it's difficult to say if the eagle was period or postwar applied.

No, collectors has not always right.
For example I often see writing that double chained nskk daggers are "high leaders", but you can find pics with these daggers on non-commissioned officers. The same for the "Deutsche Motorsportabzeichen", it was not nskk but O.N.S.

Happy new year to all readers!

                The collector always has right.
This was meant sarcastic!! No, the collector indeed has not always right, but I do not want to correct them anymore!
Most of them always know better, in spite of the fact they never did any research.

Guymauve: sometimes it is possible the wrong positioning was caused and done before the end of the war. Mostly
however this was done after the war while the "fiddler" (collector or dealer) did not know what to do!! Some of them
are known in the collectors-world as "mr. Fummel"!
The wearing of an eagle in front of a field-cap was most often seen by men from wartime NSKK-transportation. In
volume 5 from my series "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" I do show this with various photos.

                  Hi
I have not yet bought your volume 5 due to lack of money, but I plan to do so in the future when it gets better.

I suppose you are talking about the Coleman's cap shown on #270?
This style was also used by pre war field cap also showed in your volume 4 page 440, used by motor schools.
Happy New Year and Health to You, Mister Saris.

No, I mean seeing in actual photos. I do not mean the Coleman cap.
I have in there photos from the Stadnicki cap. Might be the same cap,
as when Stadnicki died, maybe Coleman bought this cap. This cap is in
volume 5, page 31. Page 270 is RAD. In volume 4 on page 270 there is
                    no cap.

I agree, lets see if we can flush some more NSKK out of the woodwork:
