This is an M43 I believe, not a Berg. Visor is too long to be a berg, peak is different I believe.

Yes indeed, but still not an authentic hat in my opinion.

At best, as already stated, a "field made item" with the application of the insignia speaking against that possibility.

I could entertain doubts (IMHO).

Hello,
I would be very cautious. From the pictures, the weave of the wool material is very coarse, in my opinion. Also, as already mentioned, a true bergmutze would have a leather sweatband running all the way around (except maybe in the late war versions...)

This is an M43, not a Berg, material is correct for an M43.

Now I stumbled on this very exact cap - on Military Antiques, a dealer in Sweden with references from SS Relics collector website late late last night. Contacted him and spoke with him today.
